BTS’s Jung Kook Is Challenging For U.K. Crown With ‘Seven’

Jung Kook's "Seven" could go where no member of BTS has gone before – to the summit of the U.K. singles survey.

Jung Kook's "Seven" could potentially achieve an unprecedented feat for any BTS member - reaching the top of the UK singles chart.

BTS's Jung Kook is off to a strong start in his solo career in the UK, as "Seven" (by BigHit Entertainment) is currently vying for the chart-topping position.

Featuring US rapper Latto, "Seven" is just 2,000 chart sales behind the current leader on the midweek chart, Dave and Central Cee's "Sprinter" (Live Yours/Neighbourhood).

If successful, "Seven" would take Jung Kook to the summit of the UK singles survey, something no other BTS member has achieved before.

Each of the seven members of the K-pop phenomenon - Jin, Jimin, Suga, Jung Kook, RM, V, and J-Hope - has released solo material, with Jimin's "Like Crazy" reaching the top 10 (peaking at No. 8) and "Set Me Free Pt. 2" securing a top 40 hit at No. 30. Bandmate J-Hope was the first BTS member to secure a UK top 40 single, with his collaboration with J. Cole, "On The Street," peaking at No. 37.

Collectively, BTS has accumulated nine UK top 40 singles, including four top 10 hits (with a No. 3 peak for "Dynamite" in 2020, and "Butter" and "My Universe" with Coldplay, both from 2021). Additionally, two BTS titles have topped the national albums chart.
